Jaipur: One of the top senior leaders of Congress and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will again prove his political acumen in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in assembly elections.

AICC has appointed Gehlot as the senior observer for Gujarat assembly elections. Gehlot had proved his mettle in the last assembly elections in Gujarat. Though Congress could not form the government, it gave a tough time to the ruling BJP there. Gujarat is seen as a laboratory of RSS and BJP and the Saffron Party is ruling the state for many years.

The Congress has again shown confidence in Ashok Gehlot to challenge BJP in Gujarat. Former Health Minister of Raj, Dr Raghu Sharma is in charge of Gujarat. CM Gehlot is likely to visit Gujarat on July 20 & might also chair a meeting of poll Observers there.
