Gadkari Announces Rs. 30,000 Crore Investment in 9 Roads and Highways Projects for Rajasthan
Jaipur: The ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024 held its second-day thematic session focusing on infrastructure and supply chain, highlighting significant advancements in the state's logistical efficiency, sustainable expressways, and industrial zone development.
Attended by key leaders including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, and several other state ministers, the session discussed how integrated infrastructure could drive sustainable growth in Rajasthan.
In his address, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed optimism about Rajasthan's future, emphasizing the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strategic vision of Gadkari to transform the state's infrastructure.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari echoed similar sentiments, asserting that under Chief Minister Sharma's leadership, Rajasthan's growth trajectory would soar in the coming years. He highlighted the significant role of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor in accelerating the development of tribal districts in Rajasthan and unlocking their industrial potential.
Gadkari also announced the launch of nine major roads and highways projects in Rajasthan, with a total length of 800 km and an estimated cost of INR 30,000 crore. Notable projects include the Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur to Amritsar Highway, which will strengthen the state’s road infrastructure and logistical capabilities.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel acknowledged the vital role of road networks and logistics in driving the state's development, highlighting the historic steps taken by CM Sharma to connect all corners of the state efficiently.
Praveen Gupta, Principal Secretary of PWD, Government of Rajasthan, shared that the state had significantly improved its logistics ranking and was preparing to launch the Rajasthan Logistics Policy 2024 to attract investment, reduce transportation costs, and further enhance the sector.
The session, titled “Infrastructure: An Important Link in Supply Chain,” saw discussions on integrating various transport modes, making expressways sustainable and eco-friendly, and developing specialized industrial zones near transport networks to boost efficiency and operations.
The summit also featured contributions from industry leaders including Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman of NHAI; Dr. Surendra Ahirwar from DPIIT; Prakash Gaur, Director of National Highways Logistics Management Ltd.; and other prominent experts, who collectively outlined strategies for driving Rajasthan’s infrastructure development into the future.
