Fuel surcharge now every month

Jaipur: Fuel surcharge now will be imposed on electricity consumption every month. However, domestic consumers and farmers consuming up to 200 units will be exempted from surcharge. After approval from Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Authority, power DISCOMs are all set to impose provisional fuel surcharge of 52 paise. A proposal in this regard was sent to finance department and after approval from finance dept, the surcharge will be imposed every month.

At present, the calculation of fuel surcharge is done quarterly.
