FROM THE DUNES OF BARMER TO THE HILLS OF DAUSA, MODI TO HOLD 2 ELECTION RALLIES IN STATE

With the mercury soaring in the desert land, the political mercury has also risen several notches as the all-important first phase of Lok Sabha polls is round the corner. While the voting for the first phase will be held on April 19, the Bharatiya Janata Party is hoping to swing the public’s mood in its favour and thus, after holding a massive public rally on Thursday in Karauli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be back in Rajasthan on the very next day to hold the party’s ‘Vijay Shankhnaad rally’ for candidates on the Barmer-Jaisalmer and Dausa Parliamentary constituencies. Interestingly, PM Narendra Modi will also partake in his first roadshow of these elections within Rajasthan in Dausa.

Modi will address the Vijay Shankhnaad public meeting at the Adarsh Stadium in Barmer. A roadshow will be held subsequently from Somnath Square to Gupteshwar Darwaja in Dausa.

Notably, the Barmer-Jaisalmer seat has become the hottest in the current Lok Sabha elections. This is the only seat that is stuck in a triangular contest as there is a contest between Congress’s Ummeda Ram Beniwal, Independent candidate and Sheo MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati and BJP’s Kailash Choudhary. This seat borders Pakistan and is one of the largest Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan whose effect can be seen in the entire Marwar. The dialect and lifestyle of people here is almost the same.

On the other hand, regarding the roadshow in Dausa, Rajasthan Government’s Cabinet Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena is roaming around distributing ‘Peele Chawal’ and inviting people to participate in the Prime Minister’s roadshow. Congress has given a ticket to MLA Murari Lal Meena, while BJP has fielded Kanhaiya Lal Meena. Before the roadshow, special decorations will be done at major places and intersections of Dausa city. For this, responsibilities have been distributed among the workers for various preparations like welcome gate, stage for felicitation, place for showering the flowers etc. Just like the Barmer-Jaisalmer seat’s impact could be seen in the entire Marwar region, similarly, the impact of Dausa will be seen till Jaipur City, Jaipur Rural and Tonk-Sawai Madhopur seats.

It is due to this aspect and the impact of the Dausa constituency that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has been campaigning in various assembly constituencies under this seat. Political observers have noticed that CM Sharma has been on his toes for the better part of the past fortnight and with each passing day, his campaigning has become aggressive as he wants to fulfill the party’s ‘hat-trick’ of Mission-25. It is believed that his focused approach and connect with the grass-root worker has boosted the morale of the party workers.
