FI’s prediction comes true, once again!
Jaipur: Once again First India’s reporting has stood the test of time and turned to be true. Ten days back, First India had reported that former DGP ML Lather was making efforts to be appointed as the next Chief Information Commissioner of Rajasthan. Now the state government has promoted him to CIC.
He will be the second IPS who has been appointed to this post as prior to him, IPS Suresh Choudhary had undertaken this responsibility. Lather would be the fifth CIC. Notably, three IAS have also served as CIC namely MD Kaurani, T. Srinivasan and DB Gupta.
The newly appointed 3 Information Commissioners — Mahendra Parekh, Suresh Chand Gupta and Tikaram Sharma are retired government servants. This has happened for the first time that no journalist, social worker or educationist has been given a chance. In the past journalists Ashutosh Sharma and Narain Bareth have served as CIC.
CIC’s tenure is for three years or 65 years of age and it is believed that the Information Commission will work with full speed since its required numbers have been fulfilled.
