Farmers to gain from Israeli farming methods: Meena

Jaipur: Agriculture Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena held a detailed discussion with Israel’s Ambassador, Naor Gilon and the Israeli delegation at the Secretariat on Wednesday for technical cooperation in agriculture and horticulture in Rajasthan. Principal Secretary Agriculture Vaibhav Galriya and Horticulture Commissioner Laxman Singh Kudi were also present at the meeting.

Possibility of cultivation of grapes and dates in Raj and high electrical conductivity (EC) and PH was also discussed. Meena held detailed talks with the Israeli Ambassador regarding new technical cooperation on agricultural production from PH water. The Agriculture Minister asked to work on possibility of cooperation for processing of guava being produced in Sawai Madhopur. Galriya informed about progress of ‘Centres of Excellence’ said that under the supervision of Israeli technical experts, about 15,000 farmers have been trained at these centres through advanced agricultural techniques. The Israeli delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress and invited the Agriculture Minister to visit Israel with a technical team and farmers.
