Family should not put pressure on children: CM on student suicides
Jaipur: Expressing deep concern over the increasing incidents of suicide among students, CM Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said that parents should promote positive thinking by establishing dialogue with their children. Gehlot also advised parents not to create any kind of mental pressure regarding their career.
He said that if needed, the support of counselling should also be taken. Gehlot was addressing the state-level youth mahapanchayat ‘Yuva Sankalp’ organized at the Agricultural Research Center in Durgapura, Jaipur on Saturday.
“I wanted to become a doctor in my childhood, used to study till 2-3 in the night, but did not succeed. I didn’t give up. Changed the course and became a social worker. Entered politics and today I am here. The family should also not put pressure on the children. Let them be who they want to be. I never thought I would be CM, Union Minister, but I got all the posts,” he said.
