Family planning vital for a developed nation: CM
Jaipur: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed concern over increasing population during a state-level award ceremony organised by Medical and Health Dept at RIC on World Population Day. He emphasised the impact of population growth on resources, economic devp, and social welfare. Sharma highlighted the importance of family planning in achieving stability, noting state’s progress towards sustainable devp goals with a current total fertility rate of 2.0. He underscored the crucial role of medical personnel in providing healthcare services. Awards were presented to districts and institutions for exceptional performance in family welfare initiatives, with Banswara, Beawar, Kekri, Bhilwara, and Shahpura recognised for their contributions. CM also mentioned a specific category where population control measures are ineffective, emphasising the need for targeted education on the matter. Though he didn’t specify the category, political circles are now discussing it.
Awards were given in in various categories of the healthcare sector. CM launched Ayushman Rajasthan e-magazine, unveiled a poster on World PoulationDay & also inspected an exhibition by the Health Dept.
