Families want their newborns’ ‘arrival’ on Jan 22
Jaipur: In an unusual yet heartening trend, pregnant ladies and their families are expressing a fervent desire to welcome their newborns on January 22, a date that holds special significance for Indians when 500-year old dream of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya is coming true. The trend has caught on, with several families approaching doctors with requests for scheduled deliveries on this particular day.
“Normal deliveries are unpredictable, but there’s a remarkable surge in expectant mothers opting for deliveries on January 22. Nearly 4 to 5 patients have explicitly expressed their wish to undergo caesarean sections on this date, aligning with their spiritual beliefs and following consultations with pandits,” said a senior doctor.
As part of the preparations, hospitals are arranging for bhajans and poojas on the anticipated day. Yellow clothes, considered auspicious, will be provided to welcome the newborns. Patients have even requested the inclusion of spiritual music, particularly Ram Bhajans and Hanuman Chalisa, during the delivery procedures.
One such patient, Sunita Agrawal, expressed her wish for her baby to be born on January 22, stating, “Me and my family want the baby should come on January 22.” Her husband, Jitendra Agarwal, echoed the sentiment, saying, “It’s a historical day, and our family is ready with the preparations. It’s a big day, and we really hope the delivery gets successful that day.”
The hospitals, in collaboration with the expectant families, are creating an environment that aligns with the spiritual and cultural significance of the chosen date.
The convergence of medical science and spiritual beliefs reflects a unique and heartwarming trend in Jaipur’s maternity wards.
