False ceiling at new ICU wards of SMS Hospital caves in

Jaipur: Even before the handover of the two new ICU wards (Neurology and General Medicine) built in Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Jaipur, the false ceilings gave in as water began to drip from the roofs. Besides, there is space between the beds installed in these wards and other technical flaws. In view of this, the committee has refused to take over these wards. The company representatives are pressurizing the hospital administration and the committee to take the handover.

The hospital administration had issued a tender to build two new ICU wards for the patients admitted in Neurology and General Medicine departments with 50 beds in each. The work was given to Delhi’s VBM India Company and the ICUs were built at a cost of more than Rs 12 crore.
