Jaipur: Jaipur police have arrested a conman, Sarvesh Kumawat from Ujjain, who posed as an IRS officer to defraud over 25 women. Vidyadhar Nagar Police Station SHO Rakesh Khyalya led the investigation after a complaint from one victim. Kumawat claimed to be a 2020 batch IRS officer, often introducing himself as the Zonal Director of the NCB. He would befriend government-employed women, then fabricate stories about his bank account being blocked to swindle them out of lakhs. During his arrest, police found a fake Ministry of Finance ID of Deputy Manager. He was caught at a hotel while meeting another victim.
