Ex-bureaucrats eye for tickets in assembly polls
Jaipur: With just a few months left for the assembly elections, former and serving bureaucrats aspiring to contest elections have intensified efforts to get tickets. Along with political leaders and workers, former/present bureaucrats are also in the line for getting tickets in Congress. These include former chief secretary Niranjan Arya, former DGP of Tamil Nadu S R Jangid, IAS officer Kunji Lal Meena and others. In the current assembly, several of the MLAs are former officers. These include BJP MLAs Harish Meena (former Rajasthan DGP), former IAS officer JP Chandelia, independent MLA Laxman Meena (former IPS officer), RLP MLA Pukhraj Garg (former administrative officer).
Congress MLA from Jaisalmer Ruparam Meghwal, Bandikui MLA GR Khatana, Mahuva MLA OP Hudla, Dausa MLA and minister Murari Lal Meena also joined politics after being in government services. PS Jat, former MD of Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam, had contested the Lok Sabha elections. Retired officers B.P. Meena, Sukhpal Meena, Ajay Singh Chittorda, R.K. Meena, Siyaram Meena, O.P. Yadav, R.P. Meena, Giriraj Meena, Kishanlal Meghwal have been trying for a ticket for a long time.
Apart from them, former IPS officer Anil Gothwal, Vijendra Singh Jhala, former IAS officers KC Verma, Lal Chand Aswal, OP Saini, Lalit Mehra, and former police officers Madan Lal Sharma are also seeking tickets.
