Every hand will get livelihood in Raj: CM Gehlot

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that the State Government is serious about providing employment to every hand in cities on the lines of villages. “For the first time in the whole country, a historic initiative has been taken in the form of ‘Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme’ to provide employment to the residents of Rajasthan. Now the state government will provide 100 days employment to every needy family of cities under the scheme,” Gehlot said while addressing the people of the state at the launch ceremony of Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme at Ambedkar Bhawan in Jaipur. He said that under the scheme, needy families can get employment by making job cards from the mass base and seeking employment.

The Chief Minister said that Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) was started during the UPA government for employment in rural areas across the country “The positive results of MGNREGA were seen and employment opportunities were easily accessible to the rural unemployed across the country. This also improved the standard of living. When the employment crisis increased during Corona, this scheme proved to be a boon. Keeping this in mind, the historic decision to start employment guarantee scheme in urban areas was taken in the budget,” Gehlot said and released the booklet related to the scheme at the function and distributed job cards to five women. He interacted with the girl students studying in Mahatma Gandhi English Medium School and encouraged them.

Gehlot said “State Government is continuously taking important decisions for the economic, social, educational development of the people of the state and for realising the vision of a healthy Rajasthan.” UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal said that Govt is determined to provide employment to every hand. MLA Rafeek Khan said that providing employment in cities is an uphill task. JMCH Mayor Munesh Gurjar said that every section is being taken care of under CM’s leadership.
