Election department to stop use of single-use plastic

Jaipur: In a first of its kind ‘green initiative’, the election department will conduct all the upcoming elections in an eco-friendly manner. Implementing the unique idea, the election department will now stop the use of single-use plastic in various elections. At the same time, from raising awareness to election guidelines, efforts will be intensified to reduce paper wastage and use by using social media platforms like WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Telegram. According to guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the State level programme related to plantation and other environmental awareness will be organised by the Election Department on World Environment Day. Plantation will be held at CEO’s office, EVM VVPAT warehouse and booths.
