ED seals offices of IAS Subodh after 12 hr probe

Jaipur: In the case of the Jal Jeevan Mission scams, the ED team searched the residence and office of many officials, including the ACS of Water Supply Department, Subodh Aggarwal on Friday. Earlier, the ED had conducted raids in Jaipur, Alwar, Neemrana, Behror and Shahpura on September 1 in connection with the PHED scam under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).

Raids were conducted at 26 places in Rajasthan and a total of Rs 11.03 crore cash and goods were seized. This includes gold worth Rs 6.50 crore. The ED will call Subodh Aggarwal and Mahesh Joshi’s OSD Sanjay Aggarwal to Delhi for questioning before November 16.

The ED said that searches were conducted at the residences and offices of many senior officers and private persons, including PHED ACS. A total of Rs 48 lakh in cash, bank balance of Rs 1.73 crore, property documents worth Rs 2.21 crore, digital devices and incriminating documents have been seized.

ED officials from Jaipur and Delhi recovered three diaries, a pen drive and hard disk.
