ED raids to probe JJM irregularities in State

Jaipur/Behror: ED on Friday conducted multi-city searches in Rajasthan as part of a money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in the implementation of Centre’s ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’, official sources said.

ED raided official residence of XEN Mayalal Saini of PHED in RIICO Industrial Area in Behror. Saini was arrested by the ACB on Aug 6 in Jaipur while taking a bribe of `2.20 lakh. A number of premises belonging to engineers, contractors and some former State govt officials in Jaipur, Alwar and a few other cities were also searched. The money laundering case is understood to have stemmed from Rajasthan Police FIR. Action was taken at over 28 spots in Jaipur. A team of ED was also called from Guj.
