ED raids retired RAS, others in Jpr, Alwar; seizes Rs 4 cr cash

Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team raided several locations in Jaipur and Alwar on Friday regarding the fraud of crores in the country’s biggest drinking water scheme, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The action is being taken at the houses of the contractors associated with JJM and the officers of PHED. Apart from ED’s Delhi and Jaipur team, for first time Gujarat team has also been called for action.

ED’s searched the houses of retired RAS Mahesh Mittal, property businessman Sanjay Badaya, Kalyan Singh Kaviya, XEN Vishal Saxena, suspended XEN Mayalal Saini and contractor Padmachand Jain, who had come under the radar of ACB. All are close to a senior minister in the Gehlot govt.

Sanjay had got a clue of ED’s action and had changed his mobile phone a day before. ED has not received any documents from the mobile he was possessing. ED has recovered a huge amount of cash from the residences of Sanjay and Mahesh.
