ED grills top babu, contractors in Jal Jeevan Mission ‘scam’

Jaipur: The ED started action simultaneously at more than 20 locations in the state on Friday from 6 am. The premises of top officials, property dealers, and brokers associated with the water supply department were raided.

When ED team reached the official residence of ACS PHED IAS Subodh Agarwal, he was on a morning walk. The ED team arrived in two vehicles and the interrogation began at 7 am. The forensic team was also present for several hours during the 14-hour interrogation at his official residence. Till late night, ED officials kept questioning Agarwal on the documents related to JJM scam. On the other hand, the ED team kept searching at other places.

ED also searched the locations of Sanjay Aggarwal, considered very close to PHED Minister Mahesh Joshi. Action was also taken against Naman Khandelwal who is a relative of Sanjay Badaya. While the clampdown was tightened on Superintending Engineer Sudhanshu Dixit, considered close to ACS Subodh Agarwal.

After major irregularities and scams in Jal Jeevan Mission were exposed, the contract company was punished and ED cation followed.
