Dushyant Singh poised to equal mother Vasundhara’s record with potential win

Jaipur: Dushyant Singh has once again been made the BJP candidate from Jhalawar seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In such a situation, Dushyant Singh has a chance to equal the record of his mother Vasundhara Raje on this seat. Because he is also going to contest elections from Jhalawar seat for the 5th time. If he wins, he will equal his mother’s record. It will be a unique record when first the mother and then the son have registered victory on a seat for five consecutive times.

Vasundhara Raje contested from the Jhalawar seat for the first time in 1989, wherein, she won. After this, she never looked back. She then won five consecutive times in 1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999.

At the same time, in 2004, Vasundhara Raje gave Jhalawar seat to her son Dushyant Singh. After this Dushyant won in 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Now by winning for the fifth time in 2024, he has a chance to equal mother Vasundhara Raje’s record of winning five consecutive times.

Notably, the Congress had last won Jhalawar Lok Sabha seat in 1984. At that time Jujhar Singh had registered victory on this seat. Since then, the Congress has faced continuous defeats.
