DRUG INSPECTORS BARRED FROM ARBITRARY CHECKS

Jaipur: To improve the image in the Drug Controller Organisation, arbitrary inspection and sampling by officers will be curbed and there will be transparency in investigation. For this, a Risk Based Randomised Sampling System has been developed to check corruption.

The drug department officers are always in the news for their working style, which is not good. After its image got marred in the past cases, now the Commissionerate of Food Safety and Drug Control is in a damage control mode. Drug Control Commissioner Sunil Sharma is monitoring the system. One this is implemented, the DCO will not be able to do arbitrary inspection and sampling as they will get a daily task. Any shop in the district will be allotted to any DCO for investigation. In the current system, the jurisdiction of the DCO is decided according to the police station in the district. But in the new system, the entire district will be the territory of the DCO.
