DR SOMYA AGAIN ‘ACCUSED’ AS COURT ORDERS TO RECONSIDER BAIL BONDS

Jaipur: The relief that JMC Greater Mayor Dr Somya got after her acquittal in the case of misbehaviour with the then Commissioner Yagyamitra Singh Deo, turned out to be short lived on Wednesday. Additional District and Sessions Judge-4, Mahavir Prasad Gupta, told the lower/trial court to keep the bail and bail bonds, cancelled at the time of acquittal of Dr Somya earlier this month, effective for the next 6 months. The ADJ court also summoned the original record of the lower court and said that if the revision petitions are not disposed of by June 23, 2022, then the court will be able to take necessary action in relation to sending the letter before the trial court. With this, Dr Somya has once again become an accused in the case. The court gave the above order while hearing the revision petition of the complainant Yagyamitra Singh Deo, represented by Advocate AK Jain. The next hearing in the matter is on May 7. Advocate AK Jain said that due to the restoration of the bail bond, Mayor Dr Somya will continue to be an accused till the disposal of revision. Deo had lodged an FIR against Dr Somya and four councillors Ajay Singh Chauhan, Paras Kumar, Shankar Sharma and Ram Kishore Prajapat at Jyoti Nagar police station on June 4, 2021 accusing that during the meeting the Mayor and councillors misbehaved and assaulted him.
