Dr Bagarhatta gets show cause notice for not holding meeting

Jaipur: The state government has issued a show cause notice to the Principal of Sawai Mansingh Medical College, Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta, chairman of the Advisory cum State Level Authority Committee constituted under the Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation Act in the state for not holding the meeting for the last one year.

Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education Department, Shubhra Singh said that the committee was supposed to hold necessary meetings from time to time to issue NOC for human organ transplantation, but it has come to notice that meetings were not held for the last one year. An explanation has been sought from Bagarhatta within three days for not holding the meetings.

Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department chaired a highlevel meeting on Tuesday and instructed officials to take immediate action in the case of giving fake NOC for organ transplant by taking bribe.

She also asked a highlevel committee to investigate the matter and submit a report within 15 days.

The department had taken suo motu cognisance and requested the ACB to investigate the matter, Singh said.
