DoP to probe Vet Univ ‘recruitments

Jaipur: The Animal Husbandry Department has stopped the recruitment of assistant professors in Rajasthan’s only Veterinary University being done by the university administration over irregularities and has issued orders to constitute a high-level inquiry committee. Although interviews have been done, the inquiry committee, prima facie, found irregularities during the investigation. Now the Personnel Department will set up a committee for a high-level inquiry into the matter. Irregularities have been found in the recruitment of assistant professors in Bikaner’s Rajasthan Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. On June 23, 2022, the university administration started the recruitment process for 72 posts of assistant professor. After complaints of irregularities, an inquiry committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department. The committee found the complaints correct and has banned the recruitment process. Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Department Minister Lalchand Kataria sought opinion from the DoP and after the recommendation of DoP, a high-level inquiry committee will be formed. Animal Husbandry Secretary Krishna Kunal said that the committee will soon investigate.
