Doctors treat breast cancer with SBRT technique at SMS hospital

Jaipur: SMS Medical College doctors attained huge success with the SBRT technique treatment in the Department of Diotherapy. For the first time in a state government hospital, a woman patient’s life was saved by using Active Breathing Control technology.

The woman was battling the fourth stage of breast cancer disease. The patient was initially treated with chemotherapy, however, a lump was left behind in the lung organ.

The record successful surgery was made under the direction of College Principal Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta. Unit Head Dr Sandeep Jain and his team performed the treatment.

Other staff members included Dr RS Gothwal, Dr Mitu Jain, Dr Mukesh Sankaria along with resident Doctors Dr Dipeshand, Dr Naresh, Dr Harsha, Dr Rohit, Dr Chandrashekhar, Dr Vikram, Dr Devendra and radiation physicist and technologist.
