Discussion on rules & criteria of two new state sports awards

Jaipur: The meeting of 15-member committee for Maharana Pratap and Guru Vashishtha Award, including Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award announced by Chief Minister, was convened on Friday under chairmanship of President of Rajasthan State Sports Council, Dr Krishna Poonia.

The rules and regulations of these awards were discussed. Former players gave suggestions and expressed views. Arjuna awardee Maha Singh Rao, Dronacharya awardee RD Singh, sports journalist Naresh Sharma of First India, Sanjeev Garg of Dainik Bhaskar and Lalit Sharma of Rajasthan Patrika also gave their suggestions. Secretary, State Sports Council, Raju Lal informed, CM had announced the introduction of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award during the honor ceremony of players on May 29.
