Dholpur declared 27th wildlife sanctuary of Raj, notification issued
Jaipur: The Forest department declared Dholpur as the 27th wildlife sanctuary of the state. Dholpur has been created by combining 204 square kilometres of land from five forest blocks. These include Jhiri Reserve Forest of Dholpur, Madanpur, Sene Ka Gurja, Jhiri and Shahpur unclassified areas. According to the notification, the revenue area falling between these areas and the National Crocodile Sanctuary will not be considered included in sanctuary until acquisition or voluntary displacement takes place.
Dholpur was declared the fifth tiger reserve of state. So, it was necessary that it be declared a sanctuary first. Due to this, the dept issued a notification.
