Dharna Protest on hold for 10 days in Nagar Nigam Heritage

Jaipur: The mayor of Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation Munesh Gurjar and other Congress councilors on Thursday announced to suspend their agitation demanding suspension of additional commissioner for ten days. The decision came hours after the meeting of the mayor and councilors with Congress in charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, who assured them to look into the matter. The dharna had been going on since Friday.

“We met Randhawa and he has assured us to look into the matter. After his assurance and in view of the upcoming Eid festival, we have suspended the sit-in for 10-days,” mayor Munesh Gurjar said. Gurjar and the Congress councilors have been demanding suspension by sitting on protest of the additional commissioner Rajendra Verma.

On Friday last week, ward councillors along with the Mayor met the addl commissioner for not disposing of a file related to sanitation works.
