DGP pays homage to martyrs on Police Commemoration Day

Jaipur: DGP Umesh Mishra paid homage to the martyrs on Police Commemoration Day at Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) on Saturday. The DGP read out the names and designations of all the martyred policemen, officers and employees who died between September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023.

“On October 21, 1959, a police team of 20 soldiers led by CRPF officer Karam Singh was ambushed by the Chinese army while patrolling at an altitude of 16000 feet in Ladakh. Ten police personnel were martyred in this attack. In order to remember the sacrifices of these heroes and to take inspiration from them, Police Commemoration Day is celebrated every year on October 21 in the nation,” said DGP Umesh Mishra.
