DESIRE FOR MALE CHILD LED TO INFANT’S KIDNAPPING, 1 HELD

Jaipur: The fourmonth-old infant abducted from Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital on Wednesday evening was found on Saturday evening. The police have arrested a man involved in abducting the child from the Bangar block of the SMS Hospital.

“The accused has been identified as Hemendra Alias Raju (29), a resident of Nadbai in Bharatpur. Hemendra is a labourer and was residing in a rented accommodation in the Mansarovar area. The accused kidnapped the infant, Divyansh, as he had no son. The accused has four daughters, but he kidnapped the boy as he and his family had a desire of male child,” said Ajay Pal Lamba, Additional Commissioner (Crime), Jaipur.

“The sketch of the accused was released based on CCTV footage. On the inputs given by a police constable posted at Mahesh Nagar Police Station, the accused was arrested from the Mansarovar area. The child was found playing in the lap of the accused mother and wife,” added police officials.
