Cyber thugs use CM’s name and photo to dupe his subordinate

Jaipur: Cyber fraudsters have gone so reckless as to use none other than CM Gehlot’s name & DP seeking Amazon gift cards worth Rs 3L from his subordinates on a popular messaging app. The cyber criminals used CM’s photo on WhatsApp & asked for money from DS (Protocol) Naresh Vijay. “Are you familiar with Amazon Gift Cards? I am in an urgent meeting & need money. Send me 30 gift awards each worth of Rs. 10,000,” read the message sent to Vijay. However, the vigilant officer didn’t send any money & narrated the incident to media. A similar incident was reported by Home Secy BP Yeturu wherein cyber thugs demanded Amazon gift cards from the IAS officer. Later, a plaint was filed in Cyber Police Station.
