Customs officials seize gold from domestic flier

Jaipur: The customs officials at the Jaipur International Airport seized gold weighing over 145.26 grams worth around Rs 7.50 lakhs on Sunday from a passenger from Mumbai. The seven gold sticks were recovered from three cosmetic tubes that the passenger had brought from Doha. Officials informed the passengers on international flights are often checked, but a passenger travelling from Mumbai to Jaipur was detained and checked. “On inquiry, the passenger denied being in possession of or carrying any such items. However, when the officials broke the cosmetic tubes, they found gold sticks inside them,” officials added.
