Cube Construction to run POW for 5 years

Jaipur: The luxury train, Palace on Wheels, has been given to a private company for five years. Starting September, the train will now be operated by Cube Construction Company on O&M (operation and maintenance) basis. For this, an agreement has been signed between Cube Construction and the Tourism Corporation of Rajashan.

The corporation had made efforts for the operation and maintenance of Palace on Wheels. Proposals were sought from private companies for the operation of the royal train. There were four companies in the fray. Finally, Vadodarabased Cube Construction Engineering Limited got the rights to operate the train.

On June 28, a contract was signed between the tourism corporation and Cube Construction for a period of five years. Cube Construction, in collaboration with Easy Toll Solutions, will operate the train. The privatization of the PoW was already decided. The pandemic has caused huge losses as the train did not operate for two years. The tourism corporation was finding it difficult to run the train.
