Crackdown to start in 33 districts

Jaipur: Following instructions of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to destroy the mining mafia in the state, the government team will crack down on the mafia starting today. Teams of mines, forest, revenue, police, transport and district administration have made preparations for this.

A total of 705 mining mafia territories have been identified in 33 districts where action will be carried out. A maximum of 53 mafia spots has been identified in Ajmer, 51 in Bhilwara, Baran 40, 39 each in Jalore and Udaipur, Bundi 37, Jodhpur 36, Jhalawar 30, 28 each in Rajsamand and Nagaur and Banswara 27. Illegal mining of gravel and stone is done in these mafia dens. There is illegal mining of sand stone, gypsum, kota stone, feldspar, etc.

Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant will monitor the campaign. Mines Secretary Anandi will take daily feedback on the campaign.
