Cops rescue 3 shepherds abducted by dacoits in MP

Jaipur: A team of Rajasthan's Dholpur-Karauli Police, QRT and Sheopur Police rescued three shepherds, who were abducted from the Khushalpur forests in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh by dacoits. Three accused have been arrested and one rifle and two live rounds have been recovered.

DGP Rajasthan Umesh Mishra congratulated the police team. Madhya Pradesh's ADG Crime has given a cash award of Rs 15000 to Dholpur Police for the commendable work.

The three shepherds -- Ramswaroop Yadav, Bhattu Baghel and Gudda Baghel -- were abducted for ransom from Police Station Vijayanagar in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. After tracing their location to Chambal-Beed police station Sarmathura, a special operation was conducted under the supervision of Dholpur SP Dharmendra Singh and Sheopur SP Alok Kumar.

Raids were carried out at various places in the forests of Chirmil, Kased, Murila, Mandrayal, Kuna, Sheopur Khushalpur, Richhara and Sarmathura.

The suspects were caught and interrogated. Late in the night of January 20-21, police teams laid siege on receiving information about dacoit Biru alias Virendra Nai, resident of Nizampur Police Station Bari Sadar and his brother Sonu and 5-6 other armed miscreants in Khushalpur forest.
