Cops deny gangrape, later accept and nab 2; kidnapping denied

Jaipur/Bhilwara: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped, gangraped and stripped naked near the Gangapur police station area of Bhilwara district on Saturday, officials said on Sunday. A statement from the Police Headquarters initially denied gangrape but later issued another statement denying kidnapping but accepting gangrape. The police arrested two accused in the case.

“Both the accused of gangrape of a woman were arrested in Gangapur police station of Bhilwara. The complaint of kidnapping was found to be false, the woman had gone with her acquaintances. She ran away naked after being forced to have physical relations by her acquaintances. Initially wrong facts were told to the police and the situation became clear after mobile investigation,” said the statement from the PHQ.
