Congress didn’t give MSP benefit to farmers: Union Minister Tomar
Jaipur: BJP’s State incharge for Rajya Sabha elections and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday, reached Jaipur ahead of RS polls, scheduled to take place today. While speaking to media persons at Jaipur Airport, Tomar said. “The government of Former PM Manmohan Singh didn't pay attention to farmers & failed to implement recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission’s report. However, the Modi government accepted the Commission’s report and gave benefits to farmers,” he said.
“The Modi government has constantly increased MSP of crops in interest of farmers,” he added. While taking a jibe at Congress’ resort politics during Raj Sabha polls, the Minister said that the Congress government had spent more time in hotels rather than addressing public issues in the legislative assembly.
