Cong to decide tickets 2 months before elections, says CM Gehlot
Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot has advocated for fixing the Congress ticket two months before the elections this time. In the Youth Congress meeting on Thursday, CM Ashok Gehlot has also admitted that many sitting MLAs are losing elections.
A meeting of the Youth Congress executive was held at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Bhawan on Thursday. In this meeting, the CM also discussed about the assembly elections and said, “The system of long meetings should be stopped in Delhi. Finalize the ticket two months in advance, indicate to the one who wants to get the ticket. Those people should get busy. There will also be a shortage of resources because the way the political parties have been kept tight. Rahul Gandhi just told me in Delhi that only schemes do not work. Everything has happened, but what is the behavior of the MLA leaders. Whether he has the ability to win in the field or not. 100 seats are lying vacant as we have lost the elections.”
The Chief Minister said that there are two or three types of surveys. “The one who stays in contact with the workers, the names of those workers are taken in the survey. Activists talk about the same that he can win. If those names come first, for example 25 names have been given, they should be put in the survey in advance. When we get to know the names two months in advance, when we have to roam the streets of Delhi for tickets in elections, then the leaders also get tired and the workers also get tired. After that if you get tickets then what work will a tired person do,” questioned Gehlot, and added, “I am saying these things seriously. Bhanwar Jitendra Singh got the first tickets fixed in the Assam elections. First the parliamentary board sat in Guwahati itself, got it decided there.”
Gehlot asked the youth congress leaders that if they wanted to move forward then they should learn to move forward with a stone on their heart. In the meeting, while discussing the donations, the CM Ashok Gehlot said that only donations are not enough for elections, you have to win people’s heart.
Youth Congress President Srinivas BV also addressed the gathering and said, “No executive president has been appointed in Rajasthan Youth Congress. Now all are delegates, new president will be decided soon. Delay is caused in decision due to vote rejection.”
