CONG SHIFTS ITS COUNCILORS TO RESORT; 2 NOMINATIONS JUNKED

Jaipur: Out of the four candidates, who had filed their nominations for the post of mayor in Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater on Friday, two have been rejected. Now, there will be a one-on-one contest between BJP’s Rashmi Saini and Congress’ Hema Singhania. After this development, the Congress councillors were called to the party headquarters on Saturday, from where they were taken in a bus to Majestic Resort in Sanganer.

On Friday, three Congress councillors and one BJP councillor had filed nomination papers for the post of mayor. Out of this, the nomination papers of Congress Ward 130 Councillor Rajula Singh and Ward 32 Councillor Nasreen Bano were rejected by Returning Officer Shankar Lal Saini. Rajula Singh had to give an affidavit, which could not be given on time, while Nasreen Bano could not submit the receipt of the security deposit (Rs 15,000) along with her application. Due to this, the nomination papers of both were rejected.
