Cong proves its claim, BJP gets 1, Chandra fails to make a dent

Jaipur: After the voting on four Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan on Friday, the results were declared in the evening. Three out of four seats were won by Congress and one seat by BJP as Congress’ Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari won while one seat feel to BJP candidate Ghanshyam Tiwari. However, BJP supported independent candidate, media baron Dr. Subhash Chandra lost the poll.

It is worth mentioning that Gehlot had succeeded in keeping the Independent, BTP and BSP MLAs in support of the Congress party.

Dr. Chandra had earlier claimed cross voting of 8 MLAs from the Congress camp, but the votes of the Congress camp remained united. On the contrary, cross voting took place in BJP. After the Rajya Sabha elections, now the fencing of MLAs has also ended. BJP MLA Shobharani Kushwaha who engaged in cross-voting, was suspended by BJP.
