Cong faces revolt in Banswara & Bagidora, 2 expelled for 6 years

Jaipur: Once again the Congress was seen in trouble regarding the Banswara Lok Sabha and Bagidora Assembly by-elections. First the party discussed forming an alliance with BAP on this seat and then when things didn’t work out, the nomination was filed at the last minute. During the day, candidates were fielded at both the places and the nominations of Arvind Damor from Banswara and Kapoor Singh from Bagidora were filed. Later the party suddenly decided to support BAP. Duo did not follow party’s decision and did not withdraw their nominations. Congress considered it as gross indiscipline and then expelled both of them for 6 years. However, despite the expulsion, both would remain Congress candidates because according to the rules of the EC, either the candidate withdraws his nomination or his nomination is rejected due to some reason, only then can a candidate not contest election. But both things did not happen in this instance and hence technically still both will remain Cong candidates.
