Cong candidates: Decision about 7 to 8 seats stuck

New Delhi/Jaipur: A panel of 105 names was discussed in the Screening Committee meeting at the Congress Headquarters on Sunday. If sources are to be believed, this was the last meeting of the Rajasthan Screening Committee. Panels for all the seats have been prepared in the meeting. Also, the decision regarding the seats where the issue is at stake has been left to the party High Command.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, State in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Screening Committee Chairman Gaurav Gogoi, Dr CP Joshi, Abhishek Dutt, Virender Rathore, Amrrita Dhawan, Qazi Nizamuddin, Dheeraj Gurjar, Ganesh Godiyal were present in the meeting.

The number of seats stuck is said to be seven to eight. These also include those seats on which ministers Shanti Dhariwal, Dr Mahesh Joshi, RTDC Chairman Dharmendra Rathore are seeking tickets. Apart from this, the decision on Khandela and Gudamalani seats has also been left to the Congress high command. Gudamalani MLA Hemaram Choudhary has conveyed to the High Command that he does not want to contest elections this time.

Before the Screening Committee meeting, Gogoi also held separate consultations with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at Jodhpur House on Saturday night.
