Commercial Tax dept 'soft' on mines revenue demand

Jaipur: After the demand notice issued by the Commercial Tax Department regarding the recovery of GST payable on royalty, the mine owners of the state, who were worried about the strictness of the department for revenue collection, have got a big relief.

After the high level meeting of the delegation of mine owners, the Commercial Tax Department has issued instructions to all the 17 Zonal Deputy Commissioner Administration and Enforcement Wing not to be strict regarding the collection of GST on royalty.

While mine owners have heaved a sigh of relief, commercial tax officials have also got partial relief from the alleged pressure from higher officials regarding recovery of dues.
