Commercial Tax Dept aims high with statewide surveys
Jaipur: In the review meeting held on Monday of the Commercial Tax Department i.e. State GST, one of the departments that deposits the highest revenue in the state treasury, the officials have been instructed to conduct surveys as per the targets in the state. However, to start survey, the authorities will need proper reason and permission.
The pending cases of departmental surveys being conducted till now will also have to be resolved soon, so that the revenue coming from these surveys can be recovered. In the meeting held at the Centre of Excellence in Jhalana under the chairmanship of Ravi Kumar Surpur, Chief Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department, efforts for revenue collection and challenges faced after the end of festivals and assembly elections were also discussed.
Surpur directed the officials to expedite the filing of GST returns and disposal of appeal cases and said that the work of disposal of outstanding cases of VAT Amnesty Scheme-2023 should also be expedited.
