CM lifts ban on transfers of govt dept officers

Jaipur: Ashok Gehlot government has lifted the ban on transfers of officers and employees of various government departments of state until further orders. There had been a demand to remove the ban on transfers from the public representatives.

Lifting of the ban after distribution of tickets for the RS elections is seen as a damage control effort by government.

Education Department also made a demand regarding transfers of teachers, but in view of new transfer policy, decision was not taken. The government had banned transfers for the last one year.

Last time, ban on transfers was lifted for a month from July 14 to August 14. Instructions were issued to take all the applications for transfers online. This order to remove ban on transfers will apply to all corporations, divisions or autonomous institutions.

Prior to this, ban on transfers was lifted in 2020 from September 16 to October 31. But the ban was lifted during panchayat polls.

There is a possibility of large number of transfers, especially in education & medical department. This will help in filling up vacant posts. As mentioned by Minister BD Kalla.
