CM keeps Home, Diya gets Finance and Bairwa is Transport minister
Jaipur: Hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma distributed portfolios to his ministers. The Chief Minister has retained the departments of Home, AntiCorruption Bureau, Personnel, Excise, General Administration, Planning and Department of Information and Public Relations. The responsibility of the departments which have not been given to any minister will also remain with the Chief Minister, which includes the department of mines. Both Deputy Chief Ministers have been strengthened by assigning them the responsibility of important departments. Diya Kumari has been given the important responsibility of the Finance Department, which has been kept by the Chief Minister for a long time. Apart from finance, Diya Kumari has been assigned six departments, which include Tourism, PWD & Women and Child Development depts.
Deputy CM Dr Prem Chand Bairwa has been assigned four departments including transport, higher and technical education.Both experienced and new faces have been given important responsibilities. Regional needs have also been kept in mind.
The most experienced and senior Cabinet Minister, Dr KL Meena, has been given the responsibility of the agriculture and horticulture rural development & department of redressal of public grievances. Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, has been given Industry and Commerce as well as Youth, Sports, Information Technology and Sainik Kalyan.
Among other experienced ministers, Gajendra Singh Khimsar has been made the Minister of Medical and Health Department and Madan Dilawar is Minister of School Education, Sanskrit Education and Panchayati Raj Dept. First time Minister, KL Choudhary got PHED Dept, Jogaram Patel got Parliamentary Affairs, Law and Legal Affairs, Suresh Singh Rawat got Water Resources Dept, Avinash Gehlot was allotted Social Justice and Empowerment, Sumit Godara was given Food and Supplies and Joraram Kumawat was entrusted with Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Devasthan Department.
Hemant Meena, who comes from the tribal region, has been given Revenue and colonization depts, while BL Kharadi has been entrusted with the Tribal Area Development Dept.
The CM surprised everyone by giving independent charge of a big and important department like UDH and LSG Depts to Jhabar Singh Kharra. Handing over independent charge of Forest-Environment to Sanjay Sharma, Cooperative to Gautam Kumar Dak and Energy Dept to Heeralal Nagar was also a big step. On the day of voting on Karanpur seat, MoS (Independent charge) Surendra Pal Singh was given independent responsibility of Agricultural Marketing and Indira Gandhi Canal Dept. He is contesting election on Karanpur seat.
