CM is head of Taxation and Commercial Taxes Depts
Jaipur: Taxation Department has not been allotted to any Minister and the responsibility of this department rests with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma. Officials of the Commercial Taxes and Registration and Stamps Departments, which come under the Taxation Dept, were unnecessarily confused about the Minister of these departments.
However, the confusion was recently resolved by the CMO when Principal Secretary of the CMO, T Ravikanth issued an order fixing the responsibility to Ministers of conducting parliamentary business in the State Assembly with respect to the departments under the CM.
In the order, Deputy CM Diya Kumari has been entrusted with the responsibility of handling the parliamentary work, on CM’s behalf, of Excise, Planning, Taxation, Planning (Manpower) and Statistics Depts. Diya is, however, the Minister of Finance (Budget & Expenditure).
Similarly, the responsibility of handling parliamentary work regarding the Mines & Petroleum Department has been given to Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar. Apart from these two Ministers, the names of Kirodi Lal Meena, Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Madan Dilawar, Jogaram Patel & Surendra Singh Rawat are also included in the order, who were also given the responsibilities of handling the parliamentary work of various depts.
It has become clear from this order that the CM is the head of Taxation & Mines Depts & not any other Minister.
