‘CM Gehlot’s investment oriented new energy policy changes scenario’

By developing 10 GW solar power capacity, Raj has left Karnataka-Gujarat behind: ACS Energy Dr. Subodh Agrawal

Jaipur: Taking a huge leap in the field of developing solar energy capacity, Rajasthan has ranked first in the entire country.

ACS Mines Petroleum and Energy Dr. Subodh Agrawal said that as a result of the farreaching thinking of CM Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan Solar Energy Policy and Rajasthan Wind and Hybrid Policy were released in December 2019 resulting in this feat.

He said the data released by the Ministry of Renewable Energy of the Central Government till 31 January, 49346 MW solar power capacity has been developed in the country.

In this, Rajasthan has come on top in the whole country by developing 10506 MW solar power capacity leaving behind Karnataka (7534 MW) and Gujarat (6309 MW).

Now the share of Rajasthan alone in the total developed solar power capacity in the country has exceeded 20 percent.

“As a result of these two policies, scenario of solar energy has changed in Raj & within 3 years, 6552 MW additional solar power capacity has been developed.

Out of total installed capacity of 49 GW in the country, Rajasthan alone has developed 10.5 GW solar power capacity,” Dr Agarwal said.

Minister Bhanwar S Bhati congratulated officers, investors of Renewable Energy Corp. He informed that Raj will have a major stake in achieving PM Modi’s target of devp 500 GW solar energy capacity in the country by 2030.
