CM Gehlot takes cognizance of First India report on clubs

Jaipur: Sensitivity of the Ashok Gehlot govt towards prevailing law and order in the State could be gauged on Monday when the CM; having learnt about First India’s live reality check of thenight clubs operating in the Pink City till wee hours and serving intoxicants to the youth; chaired a marathon meeting of senior police and administrative officials. Gehlot directed the officials to take strict action on night clubs and hookah bars and to enforce the guidelines with strictness. Notably, CM Gehlot expressed his dissatisfaction on clubs being open after 12 midnight.

On Sunday night, First India had shown the exact prevailing condition as two renowned night clubs of the city were functioning unabatedly till 2 AM.

Furthermore, there are allegations of supply of hookah and drugs in these clubs and there are also allegations of misbehavior with young men and women by bouncers.

After the live of First India, merely two police officers went to the actual spot, for the sake of police presence and the two officers arrived without any police force and as a result more than 200 people ran away in front of these officers. But not a single arrest could be made due to lack of police force.

Even as the response from Jaipur Police was rather ‘lukewarm’ on the matter, CM Gehlot took it upon himself to respond to the situation and while praising First India for its reality check, called a meeting at 10 PM at CMR. In First India’s reality check of night clubs at 1 am on Sunday night, the game of Night Clubs was going on in the presence of police officers whereas according to rules, music has to stop at around 10 PM.

On Monday evening Gehlot took cognizance of the news report. This development caused a major stir in all Night Clubs of Jaipur and it was observed that Night Clubs of Jaipur didn’t open after 12 midnight from Monday itself. Notably, this step of Gehlot is being praised in all sections of the society since if the orders were flouted, hundreds of people would have roamed in big night clubs of Jaipur under the influence of alcohol and hookah! Meeting went on for over an hour during which Rajendra Yadav, Usha Sharma, Anand Kumar, Umesh Mishra, Dinesh MN, Anand Srivastava, and Biju George Joseph among others were present.
