‘CM doing my political and character assassination by repeated accusations’

Jaipur: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday accused CM Ashok Gehlot of trying to do his political and character assassination by making repeated accusations against him from public platforms.

Responding to CM’s remarks made in Jodhpur wherein, he reiterated allegation of Shekhawat’s involvement in a scam committed by Sanjivani credit cooperative society, Shekhawat said “CM Gehlot is repeatedly doing my character assassination & trying to weaken me politically. SOG in its probe carried out in over 4 years & 3 chargesheets hasn’t noconsidered me involved in scam,” he told reporters in Jaipur. “The CM said that I took security to avoid arrest by SOG. If SOG calls me, I will myself go,” he said. He said that there should be no jealousy of such a level. He also suggested that it could be CM’s frustration as he (Shekhawat) had defeated CM’s son on Jodhpur seat in 2019 LS polls.
