CM calls all-party meet, 2-min silence observed for the deceased

Jaipur: A day after the brutal killing of Tailor Kanhaiya Lal from Udaipur, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot chaired an all-party meet at his residence in Jaipur. During the meeting, Gehlot held an open discussion over the Udaipur incident and appealed to the leaders of all parties to cooperate for maintaining peace in the state.

“Don’t make any such statement, which will disturb the peace and tranquility of the state,” Gehlot said. Meanwhile, a 2 minutes silence was also observed for the deceased in the all party meeting. Notably, the all-party meet was attended by Arun Chaturvedi and Ramlal Sharma from BJP, PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra, Minister from RLD Subhash Garg, RLP’s Pukhraj, CPIM’s Balwan Poonia and Amraram, Narendra Acharya from CPI, Rampal Jat from Kisan Mahapanchayat and independent MLAs Rajkumar Gaur and Sanyam Lodha.

During the meet, Advisor to CM - MLA Sanyam Lodha - raised the demand for giving monetary compensation of 50 lakh rupees to the victim’s family over which Gehlot gave his consent. Lodha also stressed that accountability of police must be ensured. Meanwhile, a resolution was passed in all-party meeting appealing to maintain peace and tranquility in the state. BJP leaders also raised many important issues in the meeting and particularly the issue of justice not being done in old incidents. Meanwhile, after the all-party meeting concluded, all leaders condemned the Udaipur incident in one voice.
